Birthdays Galore

We had a big day Saturday with two very important birthday parties to attend!

First, Lynlee had her 1st birthday party..."Lynlee's Luau"!!  Her Mom and Dad did such a cute job of coming up with a theme and decorating!  The kids enjoyed the baby pools and sprinklers while the adults enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgers!

I love this picture of Lynlee.  She has such a beautiful complexion and sweet face!!

Even though she had never had cake before, she did not hesitate to dive in to her smash cake!   She loved it!  Thankfully, the little allergic reaction that she seemed to have to the cake or icing did not end up
being anything serious.

First picture of all 6 of us!
Wes, Sabrina & Lynlee (1 year)
Brad, Eleanor, & Annie (1 month)

The guys and their girls!

Love this one with Brad & Annie!
Her expression is so sweet and she looks like such a big girl looking right at the camera.

Annie looking so girly in her smocked dress!

Aunt Emie was the prefect spot for an afternoon nap!

Love this one below!

We tried to get a decent shot of the two of us...this was the best one out of about 10.

On Saturday night, we celebrated Grandma's 90th birthday!!
She is Brad's Grandmother and Annie's Great Grandmother!

Love this action shot of her blowing out the candles!
We had a delicious ice cream cake from the local ice cream shop!  Yummy!

She also got to meet Annie for the first time along with Uncle Blair and Aunt Gene too!

4 generations...Grandma, Joanne, Brad, and Annie!

Happy Birthday Lynlee and Grandma!  We love you both and had a great day celebrating!

1 Month

Yesterday, Annie was 4 weeks old!  Wow!  I can't believe it!

8.25.11
Month-to-month onesie stickers coming next month.  Mama didn't get her act together soon enough!

We had a big day and she wore her coming home day gown that Mom made to celebrate the day:)

First, we went to the doctor for her check-up and these are her stats:
Weight: 9lbs 4.5 oz  50%
Height: 23"  90%
Head Circumfrence: 15"  75%

She looks great and is growing like crazy!!  Unfortunately, she had to get the second of three Hep B shots.  She did not like it at all and cried so hard she couldn't breathe.  I can't imagine the 2 month
check-up when she is due 4 vaccine shots.

At 1 month, Annie has great control of her head.  She holds it up by herself all the time.  She is also enjoying tummy time.  She also has great eye contact and coordination to look at people or objects and follow them as they move.

We have discovered that she also likes to be sung to (too bad I can't sing at all) and loves the hair dryer!  I was getting ready one day with her in the bathroom and turned on my hair dryer.  She relaxed instantly and was asleep within a minute.  It's kind of like the magic button!

After her check-up, we met my mom and sister at Outtakes Deli in Homewood for lunch!  It was our first lunch out!  We both loved it!!

Annie slept in her pumpkin seat while the girls got to visit!
I love this picture of her showing off her beautiful lips and sweet little nose!

After lunch, we ran a couple of errands then headed home for Annie's lunch and a photo shoot since we don't have enough pictures of this little girl yet :)

Here are a few of my favorites.

She looks so sweet and girly and petite in this picture.  (same picture below)

Her hair looked particularly strawberry blond yesterday more so than some days
when it looks just blond.

After the photo shoot, Annie's Great Aunt Mary came to meet her!
She is JoJo's sister and lives in Florida.

After our visit, we rested up for Jeffrey's first football game of the season!!
We are so excited that its football season again!

Annie and my Dad!  She just stared and stared at him!

Annie did great and we all had so much fun showing her off!  It was a very hot night but she does have her own personal fan now attached to her car seat!

Finally, here are some of my absolute favorite pictures!  Uncle Jeffrey, the very handsome football player holding sweet little baby girl in her day gown!

We love you Annie and are so glad that you are such a happy and healthy baby!!

Here is one of my favorite pictures of Annie so far!
Emily took this one when she was about a week old - unfortunately I don't know when exactly.

3 Weeks

Annie was 3 weeks old yesterday.  She seems so big to me and hardly like a newborn anymore.
I love this age and stage and hope it doesn't go too quickly.

Taken 8.17.11 20 days old

We have learned a lot about her in these 3 short weeks.  It already seems like we have known her for a very long time, but then it also seems like there is so much more to learn!

I am loving every single minute with her and can hardly put her down.  She loves to be held all the time and I love to hold her all the time...a perfect combination!

In no particular order, here is a list of what we have learned about our sweet Annie so far:

Like I said, she is a cuddle bug!  She loves to be held all the time!

She smiled at me for the first time on Monday, August 15th at just 18 days old!  I wasn't completely sure that it was an intentional smile at me until she did it again on the 16th and 17th!
Every time she smiles it makes my day!  She is still stingy with the smiles and makes you work for them - I can't wait until she smiles all the time.

When she sneezes, she often sneezes two at a time!

She has a sweet, laid back temperament!   She rarely cries - only if she is tired because she loves to be rocked or held to go to sleep or if her tummy hurts.

She loves being outside.  If she is fussy, I usually go to the front porch and she loves it!  We have been super thankful for the mild weather that we have had lately that makes the outside enjoyable!

8.17.11 20 days old

She loves to sunbath naked or just in her diaper to get some vitamin D :)

She loves to go for walks!
I hope we can walk almost every single day together and she will always love it.

First family walk in the neighborhood!

She likes her passi.  She doesn't always have to have it but it does calm her down if she is fussy.

She has her days and nights figured out!!
She worked this out at about 2 weeks and it makes such a big difference!  After nursing at night, she usually goes right back to sleep!
During the day, she taught herself the pattern of eat, awake time, then sleep! Perfect!!

She loves to nurse and I love nursing her!

She keeps her hands up by her face all the time and especially while sleeping!  We even found an ultrasound picture with her in the same position.  I am also doing the same position in my newborn picture:)

She is growing so fast!  We think she is already at least 9 lbs.  At night, I am so thankful because I know it helps her sleep longer, but I can't help but want her to stay little for a long time.

She goes 3-4 hours between feedings!  At night, she usually eats sometime between 11-1, again between 4-6, and then again between 8-9.  Not too bad for Mama!  I prayed all during my pregnancy for a baby who would like to sleep and sleep well and God answered my prayers!

She likes to sleep on her side just like her Mama!

We have lots of nicknames for her.  Brad calls her Little Bit or Annabelle!  We also call her "our little tree frog" because she loves to snuggle on my chest and looks just like a tree frog stuck to me!

She loves bath time and is always so calm and relaxed afterwards!  She especially loves it when her Daddy gives her a spa-worthy hair washing!

First sponge bath at home!
First bath after umbilical cord came off!

After a long recovery and a second visit to the hospital (more details still to come on labor and delivery), I am finally feeling GREAT!!   This has been a great week with several trips out of the house including our first solo trip with just me and Annie!

These days are so sweet and we are so thankful for them!
We love you Annie!!!
